Comparatives and Superlatives
İki şey karşılaştırıldığında comparative + than kullanılır. Bir grup içindeki en yüksek derecede superlative + the kullanılır; bazı biçimler düzensizdir.

| Yapı | Ne zaman kullanılır? | Örnek |

| short adjective | Kısa sıfat: -er / -est. | This desk is wider than that one. |
| long adjective | Uzun sıfat: more / most. | The revised guide is more useful. |
| irregular | Good → better → best gibi düzensiz biçim. | This route is better than the old one. |
| as ... as | Eşitlik karşılaştırması. | The second room is as bright as the first. |

Yanlış: This table is more clearer.
Doğru: This table is clearer.
More ile -er birlikte kullanılmaz.
Yanlış: She is the better student in the class.
Doğru: She is the best student in the class.
Bir grup içinde en yüksek derece best olur.
Yanlış: This room has less chairs.
Doğru: This room has fewer chairs.
Sayılabilir chairs için fewer kullanılır.
